AgroVet-Strickhof officially opened

ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and the canton of Zurich on 1 September 2017 held an official opening ceremony at Agrovet-Strickhof , their joint collaboration in the livestock sector. The modern facilities will allow the participating professorships from ETH and University to conduct interdisciplinary research with direct links to agricultural practice. Open days are to be held on the weekend of 2–3 September.

Returning of the dairy cows from Strickhof into the new barn from AgroVet-Strickhof

Tthe dairy cows from Strickhof returned on 28th April 2017 together with the animals for the Stigenhof (University) into the new barn from AgroVet-Strickhof. Thereby the reunion of the three herds is finised. The herd from ETH Zurich allready moved in on end February 2017.
Inauguration of the renovated Alp Weissenstein

On 9th July 2016 the ETH Zurich hold the inauguration for the renovated buildings at Alp Weissenstein.
The Alp Weissenstein is together with the main Site in Lindau and the site Früebüel at the Walchwilerberg part of the concept for the resarch facilities for agricultural sciences of the ETH Zurich.
The AgroVet-Strickhof construction project is underway

The building permit has been issued: ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and the Canton of Zurich have permission to build the Agrovet-Strickhof, a jointly operated agricultural education and research centre in Eschikon Lindau. Research director Carla Soliva and IT director Hans-Rudolf Wettstein are here to share their thoughts on the planned buildings and the opportunities for livestock research.
Ground breaking ceremony for AgroVet-Strickhof

The governor Markus Kägi, ETH President Lino Guzzella and the rector of the University of Zurich, Michael Hengartner presented together the ground breaking ceremony for AgroVet-Strickhof. And so the construction works can begin. At the centre AgroVet-Strickhof with national and international reputation researcher from ETH Zurich and University Zurich work on the value added chain of foodstuff. AgroVet-Strickhof will open on 2017.

Decision by the cantonal parliament from 19th May 2014 for the project credit of AgroVet-Strickhof

The parliament of the canton Zurich decided with 167:0 votes by zero abstinence for the project AgroVet-Strickhof. Therefore the cantonal part of the project credit of 29 million Swiss francs is approved (German protocol only).
Research is startet in the provisionary Metabolic Centre at AgroVet-Strickhof in Lindau

Beginning of Octobre 2013 the partners of AgroVet-Strickhof have start their research work in the provisionary Metabolic Centre. The first experiment has been running with cows from the Agriculture School Plantahof which is the parnter school from Canton Graubünden. Article in German.
Decision by the Government of Zurich from 18th September 2013

On 18th September 2013 applies the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich for the credit AgroVet-Strickhof of 29 million Swiss francs by the parliament of Zurich. Paper in German.
The Building Department of the Canton of Zurich, the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich launch AgroVet-Strickhof, the common Resarch and Education Centre

Strickhof, the competence centre for education and services in agriculture and nutrition of the department for landscape and nature (Amt für Landschaft und Natur - ALN) of the Canton of Zurich, the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich team up for Agricultural Education und Research. At Lindau ZH evolves a common Education and Research Centre with national and international reputation. The operating should start in 2014.
